I'm hoping like hell the forecast for late next week is correct.

Last couple of WEEKS?
Hardly stopped blowing here since last October. You 'usually" get your bit of a lull close to the rivermouth early morning to pull the pots, and that's it. Did more 2 day pulls than usual on the crays because we couldn't be **rsed going out in that crap. We did see a glass off on 5th January as we were driving out of town heading for Perth, first one for longer than we could remember. Water has been dirty and stirred up, swell never really let up, very, very few mackerel have been caught so far.
I've seen years like this before, when I was crayfishing. Makes the going very hard. Try working 20-25 mi NW of Kalbarri, all January, in a 42ft boat in that shit. It usually happens when you get a heat trough forming up just in from the coast--bloody hot inland, howling on the coast from the south. If it moves west, great hot weather. If it stays just in, look out. If it gives you any hope, I can remember one where it was like this all the way to almost the end of March (26th ?), and we were really over it. Then suddenly we had a good day, and it stayed like that for the rest of the season. Unbelievable. Very good reds run.

I will take the blame.
Shouldn't have bought the new tub. I knew if I sold the tinnie & went bigger the winds would get stronger.
Hope to get it wet this Saturday, finally there is a light at the end of the "wind" tunnel.....
Cheers & Stay safe

Haha.
I'll try to remember that at the jetty.
Looked for an ali hull, ended up with a Carribean Belmont. Didn't find a 5m ali hull that fitted my criteria.
Needed a good height gunnel, safety first for the grandson. 750mm should cover him for a while.
Well kept boat, minimum marks & 227 hours on the clock for the Merc motor.
I guess i couldn't fault it. We will find out if i made the right choice....
Cheers & Stay safe

Pro boat. Tied up to mooring on north island to get out of wind. Couldn't believe the amount of huge squid and herring at night coming into light
