Wheelchair drink-driver 'six times over limit'

A man has been charged with drink driving after police found him slumped in his motorised wheelchair near a major highway in Cairns in far north Queensland.
Police allege the man's wheelchair had come to a stop in an exit lane, forcing motorists to drive around him.
After they roused the 64-year-old man, he recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.301 - more than six times the legal limit.
Inspector Bob Waters says motorised wheelchairs are classed as vehicles.
"The vehicles that we normally hear about with drink driving are the family car, the truck, the motorbike," he said.
"But there are also other classes of vehicles that are subject to drink-driving laws."

It's a sign of things to come...
This is a strong arguement for not having 24 hour shopping. Whereas now, you see empty cars parked along the freeway early in the morning because the driver's been pinged for DUI or DD,...BE WARNED....what you would see with 24 hour shops is empty gophers parked at the side of shopping aisles.
