weekend cannonball over paralell 26
so myself and 2 mates did a quick shoot up to SB for a 3 day weekend. left Friday arvo, slept on the side of the road Saturday morning around 2am, and left the ramp at 8am the next day, with a pepper steak pie and emu exports for breakfast. weather turned it on for us, especially on the sunday, when we were able to dive/spear one of the outer reefs well known for its XOS mackies. unfortunately there were no BIG mackies for us this day, but a few smaller models more than made up for it. we also speared some absolute HORSE baldies at this spot, one of which is now my PB, and although it looks ok in the photo, clocked in at a smidge over 7kg, and I was lucky to be able to get him away from the 200 kegger grouper that kept eyeing him off!
as always, photos say a 1000 words, so enjoy!

Sweet !!
Nice one scotto. Do you find the Baldies & Black spots in the same areas? Or are the Black spot a lot shallower? Never done any spearing, but it looks awesome.

Same areas generally,
although you will get more tuskies in the shallower water, but the shallower you go, the more it's been hammered. The bigger baldies we got diving were from 15-20m.

Acram base
hey mate, I left the car and trailer at the ramp, and rang the local cops and let them know about my ute being there for a few days. They gave me the mobile number for Wendy, who's part of the Australian Coast Radio Monitors, Acram (pronounced Akrem) Base. She is a deadset Aussie legend, and apart from being funny as all fuck over the radio, without us even asking, she actually checked on my car daily for us. She even offered to keep the car and trailer at her joint, and would drop us off/pick us up if we needed!!

WOW
I was thinking it be a good idea to drop past the local cop shop and touch base with them prior to heading out. Good to see they are nice and helpful up that way.
Young Wendy sounds like its worth the drive just to meet this lass. lol. Might have to set it as mission to discover what she drinks to leave a few bottles with her as we depart to say thanks :)
