Hi all
It is now time to vote for the winner of the Female Section of the Fishwrecked 13 and under competition.
We have two great entries.
Five year old Tori Gladwell's 180mm bream.
11 Year old Emma Macintyre's Walpole bream

both are great pics , not so much the size of the fish its the whole thing but yeah , hard to choose . but i think the durango set it off with that sly look of Tori's . got to go Tori. nothing taken away from Emmas fish tho. well done to both girls for giving it a bash

Emma, nice fish, but I know you have the back-up to put you onto such beauties. Still very well done!
Tori, at age 5, that's a great catch, with a closed spool, too. I'm for encouraging the young-un's wherever possible, so without suggesting favouritism, my vote's for Tori!

i gotta give it to tori seeing as that i cant even use those reels properly lol. But emma... Look at that thumper.... Of a ball sinker, that would probably break my flicky... Good effot to both for sharing with us the great art of fishing. Emma would definately of had a nice fight for that monster... But the starting young and still landing gets my vote. Tori has just shown me that pink rods still catch fish after all. I love seeing youngens show up others on starter gear, goes to show its not about the gear and there's still countless people out there that cant land a blackie. Good stuff girls!

But Tori's effort is worth a prize too.
Ah, can't wait for my little daughter to catch her first proper fish. She did get a little wrasse the other day, but I had to cast out her little 1 foot pink ugly stick and half wind it back in for her. She's only 1.5 yrs old tho! Better enter her in the next comp!

Definately Emma's bream for me....both of them will have to put in a lot of effort to catch bigger ones now, great stuff to see the littl'ns catching fish and their smiles are priceless!

i have to vote for my girl tori i was so proud as this was her first outing with a rod and her first proper cast! also her first real fish as before that nothing but blowies! now tori wants to know why she cant catch one like emmas in the swan! i had to laugh and try to explain that even the best fisher would have trouble finding a bream like emmas in the swan! now tori wants to go to walpole lol. well done to emma from tori and me! we both very jealous!

Tori's cheeky smile and first fish makes for a great photo too. Onya Tori, I bet your dad is as proud of you as I am of Emma.

By my calculations
the current score (counting half-votes and 'votes each') is Tori 19 votes, Emma 21 votes. But I don't think that's the point, here. It's been amazing to see the support that this website gives to young and beginner fisherpeople. I think the real prize after all this should go to the Fishwrecked community for being Number One in encouragement and sharing of ideas.

And so do her family, she gets a little nervous on the boat and was really proud of herself for her catch from land. She will, i have no doubt, be keen for the next competition.
