Using Ebay
Submitted by Dreamweaver on Sat, 2008-06-14 09:55
Ok guys and girls, if I don't sell the two Sealine SLDs, I'm going to put them on EBAY. I've never used EBAY before, any tips, suggestions, things to watch out for? What's the deal with payment? Payment first then delivery or what?
Thanks for any assistance!

yes payment first send
yes payment first send later, you will have to open a paypal account so that they take fees out for your listings and for the buyers to transfer funds too, as a seller its not too bad, as a buyer then you have to be a little more careful, you will have to open an account name with ebay as well, fairly simple the whole lot, lots of help functions on the site to guide you along![Wink Wink](/sites/all/modules/tinymce/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif)

Make sure you're shipping
Make sure you're shipping registered post. If the buyer is a dick they can claim to have not received the goods and get a partial refund from paypal - you get screwed. Don't offer to ship to dodgy countries.
Another tip is to charge generously for postage, sure its going to piss some buyers off, but you ebay doesn't take a cut on postage and handling.
Forget setting a reserve, list at 99c and if you're not getting the price you want AND THERE IS MORE THAN ONE DAY LEFT., just cancel the auction listing. That way ebay only get a few bucks out of you for the failed listing.
Drop me a PM for more pro tips :P
