Walk down from Trigg Cafe car park mate and its off to your right, you will see the reef formation around the 'island' which you can walk out on easy enough with some booties. There are a few holes in the reef so watch your step and a nice channel that used to fire well (loved the place as a youngster and should get down more as its my local). There are guys on this site that would be probably able to help you out even more, Colin for one!

I liked sunrise to be baitcasting mulies off the reef and also those summer arvos with light tackle around the points gutters going for choppers etc.

Most off the keen tailor fishers will walk out on the reef around the island at dawn when it is low tide and low swell.the blue hole is to the south of the rock about 20 mt.Have seen a few people get knocked over on the reef.not for the faint hearted.you can fish the blue hole from the beach.but be prepared to loose some tackle on the reef. cheers stu

Just went there this arvo bout sunset as i live nearby and like you not really sure where to start but tried baitcasting some mulies from the middle of the big island rock formation and got snagged a few times then went to the beach to the left and did the same thing so after a few more losses of tackle the missus decided it was time to go. Probably be a good idea to check it out in the morning so you can see where the reef and gutters are to cast into.

Maybe early morning poppers would be the way to go then. Now its just a matter of draggin myself out of bed at 4am one morning!

quite a few peeps have drowned here over the yrs....the last one i know of was about 22yrs ago and they found him washed up in mindarie..i was fishing the sat arvo when out of nowhere police from everywhere descended on the hole

 the concrete block you see in front of the hole is a plaque to commerate 5 nuns that drowned eons ago............ive seen lots of people kcuf ankles and the like and loose bark and gear

problem here is the water will push u into the hole and then down and out

I would recommend fishing there in really good quality reef boots. And I would always recommend watching the waves before you venture out.
It is definately a good bet for fish though when it is a low tide and low swell early in the morning.
There are some pretty good holes for tailor just south of the reefy section that would definately be worth throwing a popper in. There are some resident salmon around that area that can provide a bit of action apart from the tailor.

i have encounted a few blue ring octopus there

had a cruise around in the boat on sunday flicking lures but no luck 

Sounds like a pretty dangerous spot. Ill definetly get some better boots before i tackle this then, i currently wear dive boots for this klind of thing. maybe a PFD if its a bit rough?

Anything to get onto some decent fish though, Ive been struggling to raise decent fish lately.

There are some good low tides in the morning at the moment, so if the swell is ok, and the wind is alright, Triggs would definately be worth a try. But is can get crowded and there can be a few guys who think they own the place.
