This is the worst part now. All signed up and having to wait for the new toy to turn up.

So what model did you end up ordering?

I went for a 540 trailblazer with 75hp 4 stroke, hydraulic sterring, canopy, clears, bait board, live bait tank, kill tank, fully sealed self draining deck etc...
Lots of stuff standard on the trailcraft, great boats.
Went to simo's yesterday to look at his as he has the same model, looked good. cant wait!

I am not too knowledgable about the fishing grounds around rockingham, so unless i can team up with another boat i may give it a miss.

A fun day and a few prizes thrown in for good measure.  A good sand whiting or flathead can still put you in contentionm, never mind the other species.  Theres the mystery fish prize, random fishwrecked photo prize and a few others still to be confirmed.

You should just look for the big bayshore go up and tell him to watch out for the big lump of wood floating in the water and hit mark on the gps at the same time then look for ryan, andy, dalmatinac ect I have a red polycraft and don't catch fish so no point pinging me.

Why did you get a 75hp motor

Sat, 2008-02-23 12:56

Rodrat i have a 5.8 Trailblazer with a 200 4 stroke on its arse, i beleive you might struggle a bit in rough weather with the 75hp on the back of yours. I would personally be going for at least 115hp 4 stroke. They are a great boat though and you have chosen well.

75hp should be good

Sat, 2008-02-23 13:43

My brother has a 570 pro-fish (trailcraft)with 115hp 4 stroke and driving that it feels as if the motor is to heavy for the boat. max i would go for would be 90hp but 540 with 75hp would still do around 35 knots witch would be plenty fast enough.

Wishin I was fishin and only 500k's to the water..

Guys

Sat, 2008-02-23 14:20

I was going for the 90hp 4 stroke but the rep at the boat place showed me a mercury brochure and the 75 and 90 are the same. both have the same power, only diff is the chip in them and the 90 is $700 more. so i went for the 75hp which in the local conditions will be fine.

Sat, 2008-02-23 14:29

I have a mate who has a 5.8 0r 9 sportcab trailcraft when he got it it had a 75 merc 2 stroke and was fine now he has a 90 honda and is fine also. Rodrat will have no problems, how often do we get conditions to allow us to do even 30 knots around here let alone 35?

To all the virgins..............Thanks for nothing!
