Let me state straight off I'm not a fan of Australian rules football.
Then just why am I putting up a post on this thread you may well ask. I'll explain, quite a few years ago my eldest son play in an amateur league of Australian rules when he was blatantly punched in the face by an opposing team player and knocked unconscious. He had to carried from the field on a stretcher, as the dad watching his son being carried off the field it took me all of myself control not to front the Neanderthal that hit him and do some very serious physical harm to this piece of human excrement.
A week later at a tribunal meeting this thing was given a 2 week suspension and walked from the meeting grinning like a Cheshire cat that had got the cream.
I swore to never again have anything to do with this type of cage entertainment again until it developed and came into the 20th century, and I haven't.
It was my belief then as it is now that these sort of gatherings needed to have a send off rule such as other ball sports have in order to bring some sort of instant control over what was going on in the paddock.
If my comments sound/read like sarcasm that is exactly what it is, no other form of sport (and I'll be generous with the description in this case) has such governance like Australian rules for example,
It's ok guys you can make a hero of yourself by severely hurting the opposition by pile driving his head into the ground we will give the victim a free kick and maybe just maybe you will get a slap on the wrist next Tuesday night that is if you can't get a good lawyer to defend you.
Oh and about your drug taking, if we (the administrators of the game?)are playing blind mans bluff and we happen to stumble over you with a needle or what ever method of inducing drugs into your body is your thing we won't say anything about it to any one.
However if we find you at it again we will become "miffed" and will not talk to you for a week so be careful I'm warning you.
God forbid if the media find you out of your brain on drugs "just what the hell are we to do with you then Hmmm"
I could go on and on and on but I won't, in every other sport of any merit has drug users in its ranks they are out of the sport very quickly after they are found out in some cases for life, no ifs not buts.
What's this got to do with round 5, well in todays Sunday times there is an article by Karl Langdon in which he states that the time to introduce the sin bin/send of rule is long overdue, and sets out his sound reasons (IMO) for it.
This just happens to coincide with round 5, if the bunch of self praising, self serving legends in their own lunch box, heroes of the past take notice of what quite a few of the followers of this "sport" then they should sit down and look at all the namby pamby ridiculous cods wollop they have presided over and bring in mandatory action to address acts outside the rules of the game and protect players from the human excrement that seeks to be on the field of combat but hide behind others when they dish out a "cowards punch".
Other wise lets get back to the colosseum and arm the combatants and let them get at it.
Hey nothing wrong armadale much better trmprement they played arch rivals nollamars this weekend and there was only 6 fights where last year the crowd ran onto the field
Just a bit of light hearted joking. Just as is on the other threads.
I was serious too about a "Topic of the Month Comp" and not necessarily Round 5. But seeing as some can't take a joke and obviously have a gripe with the world because someone has been injured in a sport that they volunteered to play in I am shocked!!!
Don't think for one second you are the only one hard done by Meglodon. I could enlighten you with some of MY personal life experiences but don't need to dwell on what can't be changed.
Dale call me stupid but I don't get your message? Did I do what all by myself, create a thread with a picture from the other thread? Well Yes I did. Still upset with the Fyfe-Oh loss?
And Yes, I played AFL, No never punched anyone, never took drugs and never witnessed a coward punch. I don't agree with that kind of bad sportsmanship but hey it exists. We live in an unfair world.
If I have offended you sorry but that was not my intent.
Obviously some of the people on here are in fact toffy noses who can't take a joke so I will leave "YOUR" fishing site.

That's why I elected to play
That's why I elected to play country footy instead of ammos in my early 20's and didn't return to metro footy until I qualified for Masters.
