got up this morning at thort it mite be alrite to go for a fish get to the ramp bout 9 then we went out to have a fish we came straight bak in afta bout 1min of being out of the harbour. so we decided not to waste the day so we moored up on the new moorings in the marina. we fishd three till bout 2 then went home. there wrere plenty of skippy and herring there but they didnt seem hungry. caught a big southern fiddler ray on my little rod but funily enough i didnt even hook it but it got tangled with some old line that was stickn out its mouth. no fish but beta luck next time we hope

you can catch rays and sharks land based aand from boat

Mon, 2009-10-12 00:24

some rays and sharks are good to eat and some arnt  small whaler and gummy sharks are good eating if bled and cleaned immdietly and stored iin a ice slurry -  and small eagle rays are tasty to - fiddler rays and port jacksons are full of cartilage and basically in edible and are best thrown back - wobbegongs are alright as well but becoming scarce these days - bassically fish a big fillet bait on the bottom on heavy gear from the beach or rocks and you should encouter a ray or shark - use wire trace and heavy mono leader for best results and around 10 - 15kg line will suffice

But I resized your pic. It was a bit hard to have a good idea of what you had caught.

Hillarys off the rocks this

Sat, 2009-10-17 11:46

Hillarys off the rocks this morning = no bloody edible fish.

Heaps of monster buff bream around.  I hooked one but it snapped my hook.
