Three kings islands

was wondering if anyone had been to new zealand and fished the three kings if so what would be a good time of year to go weather wise.
I have to catch a few of those XOS 30kg+ kingies

March/April are the best for
March/April are the best for weather but the fishing is still good in May. I got some great days and a few shit ones too in May 2010 and the trip after me was cancelled due to weather. Good luck getting a booking though, there may be a single spot here and there but nearly every trip is rebooked for the next year once their charter is finished. Best to contact a few operators (Pursuit, Enchanter etc) and let them know what your situation is, they may be able to help. I was a single booking and managed to get a spot with a great bunch of guys but I got lucky.
Make sure you go if you get the chance, it's a wicked spot.
