Went out fishing yesterday for the Pirtek Challenge with the girlfriend, but with Salmon being the target didnt have much luck. Took my new inflatable boat out for a drive and went fishing in Cockburn Sound. Was a pretty wavey and windy day but we still managed to get a few small fish for the first time. Caught a few nice Tailor, Herring and some small snapper. There was two fish i caught but i dont exactly know what they were. I was thinking a Slimey Mackeral and maybe a Yellowtail??
Check out the pics below...
A little bait fish... that took a hook with no bait....
Overall was a nice little day of fishing. All fish released.

Blue Mackeral / Yellow tail / hardihead
In that order - all brilliant bait for larger species

They were only hitting for
They were only hitting for about an hour then everything went quiet... Only caught a few of them and a few yellowtail. The Tailor and Herring were hitting more.
