The State budget impact on fisheries

Royalties for Regions will be invested in the establishment and management of two marine parks in the Capes and Dampier Archipelago, including research activities aimed at improving fish stocks in Western Australia.

Mr Porter said $41 million would be spent on marine parks in the Kimberley, totalling 900,000 hectares, in collaboration with the federal government and $16 million would be spent on establishing Capes Marine Park and Dampier Archipelago Marine Park

seeing we getting new marine parks, they have upped the cash in the system to support it, but spending $57m with the Federal money as well is a lot of cash to set up those marine parks, and hopefully give them the policing resources in Fisheries to make a difference.

what caught my eye was Barny and co finaly seeing the light and using Royalties for Regions money in Fisheries, that a good move and could help with a win~win for us city folk who fish in the regions as well....
