hey guys i need some help from use about squid jigging.
when is squid season ? does it vary from where along the coast you are jigging,
or are they out all the time but not as much as the season so u can jigg them all year.
ive been jigging once and got one good sized squid but i cant remember what month that was.
so if anyone can help me, i need all the help i can get.
im keen to get back into it.
Cheers
Kris :)

thats on hell of a beat up squid jig you have there!
ive just started myself, apparently the big ones are found more during winter but they spawn in both summer and winter so i guess that means that they are around all year.
in saying this i pulled 2 last week for the first time and also another today, tube around the 20cm mark. all were from cockburn landbased, im waiting for a few people to let be aboard their boats to give that a go!
oh, also apparently they are bigger towards rockingham.
all this info is second hand, not from experience!

no season as such
you can target them year round, but I have found Autumn the best time of year to target them.

hey i read somewhere that
hey
i read somewhere that in winter your action should b fast and short weres in summer slowing and long.
i think i this is to do with the big spawners in winter and the smaller ones in summer.
but you can get them all year round and any time of the day but morning and evening is best.
hope this could help
cheers danno

hey mate, ive been out
hey mate, ive been out chasin the squid on the dinghy pretty much every day the weather is good. i find it pays to have a rod or two just hangin out either side of the rear of the boat(hense the boat movement when anchored) and casting at random spots around the the boat to cover a bit of ground and i have been cleaning up big time!!! also if u want good squid i find u have to put the money in for the jigs, yo zuri, yamashita ect work a treat( pinks and oranges work best for me) not giving any info on spots though sorry, haha i find if ya wanna get the fish u will spend the time learning how to find them. good luck and tight lines.

Chief as the guys said all
Chief as the guys said all year around, just about any place you find a bit of weed you find squid it does pay to use the better jigs but then again use what you can afford.havnt fished up that way but have a chat to the boys at the local tackle store or at the ramp and Im sure somone will point you to the right location.nothing like a fresh feed of squid.
