The sea looks a bit lumpy. Warning there is some language.

Yep, that's a yellowtail kingfish
a NZ one at that. The footage I think is out from Nelson in NZ (top of the South Island). Boat is a Mclay 650HT.

Rescue
It's idiots like that who we have to go out and rescue - all to catch a fish.

I'm not defending them
but I will comment this is a professional charter boat operating in waters that are quite different to those most of us here in WA are accustomed to.

That is my mate
That is my mate Troy and yes it is from the top of the South Island in New Zealand last weekend, they drove the 1.5 hours or so to find out the weather reports had completely stuffed up so they went fishing anyway, this is not a professional charter boat Screaming Reelz is just the name of his boat, boats are fine fishing in those conditions with a good skipper and a mad bunch of guys keen, I sure no this time of year over there it would have been very cold.

Can't say I would be so
Can't say I would be so enthusiastic to fish in those conditions but when you look at most of the jigging vids in New Zealand this type of weather features quite prominently, can't say I would like to have those waves coming over the arse end of my cat but I'm sure the skipper and crew are more than experienced enough to handle it and know there boats limits.
Just a question Coxy I know you have fished there a bit, do they get king waves similar to down Esperance way over there??
Tight lines to all :)
