Smith 55 nirai - would it be ok for bottom bouncing?
Submitted by Sammut on Wed, 2010-11-24 18:49
Hey guys,
Just wondering if my jigging outfit would be any good for bottom bouncing at all? Smith 55 nirai and Stella 20000
I'm heading up to Exmouth next week so just seeing if it can be used for that.
Thanks

You can use
spinning gear for bottom bouncing it's just not as user friendly as an overhead. Make sure you take a few cheap jigs with you (sharks), they certainly work up there

I was laughing after reading the opening.
Thinking that combo would pull a great big red up so fast out of the jaws off sharks, but you wont feel any fight IMO. Skull Drag to the max.
I wont have any problems. My BB gear is about half as capable as that up here in Dampier and have had no problems. Shimano Tcurve Lacunas jig with Saragosa 14000. PS I also Have a twin speed saltist on a monster MonsterMesh.

Tony can provide the spot, I will provide the boat and fuel, and Jamie can provide the jigs and beer, sounds like a ripper plan for a nice flat day in the next two weeks

Rods?
Ahh that iPhone - I don't ping, just ask Pete D. He was a little bit bitter when his GPS reset and I had none of the points.
How about I provide the rods? They are here for review purposes and you know that the pair of Synits are the DeepShot Seriola, so Amberjacks are a valid target ;)
