burley seems to mean more
burley seems to mean more than bait when it comes to the little sharks in my opinion, but yea live herring does the job. Mullet is another nice bait that alot of ppl pass over...

i use 50lb-80lb braid, 1.5m
i use 50lb-80lb braid, 1.5m of either 100lb mono leader or 200lb nylon coated wire trace depending on what im chasing.
Rig, depending on what im chasing, where and weather;
Sometimes running tripple snell 6/0 octopus, or double 7/0 circles slide snell by 100lb mono to slide clip to swivel, 1.5m of 20lb mono leader to 3oz-6oz breakaway.
Sometimes running 6oz bead sinker to swivel to 200lb nylon coated wire to tripple fixed 6/0 octopus or 100lb mono leader to double sliding snelled 7/0 octopus circles. Bait, belly of fish gutted and replaced with bloody chum or styro foam then cable tied back together.
Sometimes ballooned 2m of 200lb nylon coated wire to 10/0 shark hook or 9/0 gangs.
Baits;
whole squid, mullet, scalie mack, slimey mack, tuna heads or cocktail. Sometimes live or gutted and filled or buttlerflied or filleted.
