sea anchors, which way

After reading another thread about sea anchors, how do you rig them and and which way do you drift.
We always use a y bridle and secure on port side drifting side on to the wind fishing 2 off one side and allows a 3rd to fish comfortable from the starboard sters

I used to.....
I had the drift anchor tied just forward of centre so the boat drifted mostly side on/ nose into the waves(westish). Had a piece of thinner rope that was attached to the bottom of the anchor so that we could pull it in backwards. This rope was tied off just aft of main rope so it wouldnt tangle with the main rope. Had plenty of room for 2 people fishing off the port side and third could fish out the back if required. This setup made sure the wind was always in your face.
This is the way I always did it and believe it to be probably the safest.....Sadly I no longer own a boat.

That's the way! Move it
That's the way! Move it towards the bow as it gets windier.

Don't much like the second rope
I have floats attached to sash cord to the centre of the drogue and a 24oz sinker with slides on the float line .....keeps the drogue deep and stops it spinning. To retrieve simply drop the end over the side and motor up to the float and pull it in .....collapses the drogue making it simple as. And yes, fixed half way along the boat so drift side on to the wind.....if really windy I fix off the bow as this really slows the drift. I run a long rope to the drogue as this stops and sudden tugs ....short ropes invite water over the side

I tie mine on the section of bow rail closest to the deck but under certain conditions I've had the rope come in front of me and have had braid rubbing on rope with a fish on so rigged up a Y bridle yesterday and will now attach the other rope to the anchor cleat. Also have the thinner rope tied to the end to collapse it.
Officially off the Pies bandwagon
