i have a qinni 480 coastrunner with a 70 hp merc on the back
was wondiring if i could take that over to rotto on a calm day and stay there over night

I dont see why not, if you get weather like we have had this weekend i.e two nice days in a row a 4.8 should make it over easily. Rotto is only about 15ks from memory , from hillarys that is. Less from Leeuwin ramp at freo.

No probs long as all safty gear and no kids on da boat. I have fished 17 mile out from Warple [southern ocean] in a 4.8 Quinnie on a goodish day with no problems , We just had to slow it down a little on the way in . A good gage in a smallish rig is to look for white caps , that is a sign for you to have a think about it .
