reel recommendations

Looking for a new 3000 size reel to be used for flicking plastics for snapper and lures up north. Budget around $400. Like the looks of the new 2010 certate but its out of my budget. What other good options are there??

Twin power FC gets my vote. Just in your budget too. What line class do you plan on running?
Also sustain is very very similar just a bit cheaper

i just got a daiwa sol 2500
i just got a daiwa sol 2500 up here in exmouth after killing my old softie reel .. its worked a treat so far on tuna, queenies and snapper (running 10lb tho)

What line class do you want to run?
Twinpower 4000 gets my vote for plastics fishing for larger fish. I've had a 4000FB for a couple of years, run 20lb on it on a 4-8kg rod and it's preformed great. I haven't used the FC series, but they haven't changed much from the FB series, so I'm sure they'll be fine.

Saragosa 4000
As rugged as a Sheros with some Stella features. Started with one Saragosa, had 5 and now 4 left. The 4000 is awesome, light yet tough.
Fish donated one to Poseidon.

looking at spooling with 12-15lb, already have a caldia kix 3500 with 20lb but its alot bigger than the daiwa 2500/3000 model. Havent checked out the shimano range yet but will see what size the twinpower fc is. Have heard good things about the Luvias too... decisions.. decisions

Twinpower 4000 is a tad
Twinpower 4000 is a tad bigger then the daiwa 2500 series. But a fair bit smaller then the 3500. A few places are selling the old Certates quite cheap, so you might pick up a bargain. Bluewater have got the 2500R (2500 Spool and rotor, with 3000 sized body/gearing, so loads of power) for $469 with is a bragain imo (Used to be around $700). I've got one which I run PE1 14lb on and it's perfect for the fishing that you've described.
Maybe even look at the Daiwa Bradia 2500R. It's basically a certate with a couple less bearings and pretty well priced.

I found the old model for $399 of motackle which is the cheapest ive seen from anywhere even overseas. Thinking the old certate will be the one.

Yeah that's a bargain. 2500 model should be fine. Better then any other reel that you could purchase for around that price in aust at the moment. Free braid too.
