I was hoping to do something similar next Monte's trip as well - weather permitting. Guys that have been there generally speak highly of it - albeit a long way to go with nothing to hide behind, but you get that. It would be a case of if the easterly comes up go back to the monte's and if the westerly comes in, head toward home - southerly.... head to Bali. Have you been out Glomar way?

The few trips I know that have been out there have all been chasing billfish and have done alright.
It'd be a big trip at over 35nm each way but well worth it if you could pull it off.
Not sure if you buy the Spearfishing magazine but I think the Exmouth article over the last few editions featured some doggies speared out there.
I've fished similar shoals up that way and they all have doggies on them, even in suprisingly shallow water. Get a Monties convoy happening and give it a crack.

I've been spearing in 10m of water and had decent (20kg) doggies come through. I guess the common theme with these lumps is in that they have been in the vicinity of deeper water (ie something over 50m within a few miles)
