Pro pots on 5 fatham bank

Just for info there are a heap of pro pots back on 5 fatham south side of rotto.

These pots would have atleast 30-40m of rope on top of the water so be carefull. We picked one up on friday afternoon as they were hard to see with the sun.

at a guess i would say they moved there pots onf rom deaper and couldnt be bothered changing the ropes over???

Pretty careless i think to have that much rope on

Cheers

Bodie

That sounds like an accident

That sounds like an accident waiting to happen. If going full throttle and you pick up a rope it could get ugly

So many fishing spots. Not enough sickies!!!!!!!

tide n swell

Might have extra rope on them for the big swells that rock through that area, but yep, hear what your saying.  Was always a nuisance having to navigate through them when fishing out of Perth.

I was speaking to one bloke years ago, he said he cuts the rope if he encounters a problem like that.

Yeah long ropes are not real

Yeah long ropes are not real clever but I don't think cutting them is either. Try to go directly with or into the wind or current so your not going across the ropes but along them. I hear what ya saying about seeing em in sun can be hard to spot. I go out of Mandurah mostly and one clown had his floats painted dark blue saw em at the last second. I always keep my eyes peeled at the 5 cause it's normally thick with em.

GO BLUES.

yeah didnt expect the pro's to be back in shallow again.

I can understand putting longer ropes on for swell...hey i do that myself... but i dont go more than about 5m on the water.

we dragged the one we picked up for about 100m i guess. (I was not driving, and when i pointed it out to the driver he couldnt hear me yelling to stop...)

Luckily no damage was done.
