Please Help - Rod for Saros 4000f
Submitted by PerthGlory on Tue, 2012-02-21 21:17
Hi,
was chasing whiting and flathead over the weekend and realised i have a gap in my fishing arsenal.
the saragosa 8000 and deep jig 200 was a bit overdone for the task.
picked up a Saros 4000f reel with 15lb braid and now looking for a rod.
had a look at the 7foot 2 terez today, bit unsure about the balance.
anyone have any constructive advise that will give me additional rods to investigate.
and yes i have tried the search function with no help.
Thanks

I can't help mate, but I do have a similar problem.
I have a stradic ci4 4000 that is matched perfectly with a 9ft catana. Great for baitcasting gardies & throwing plugs off the beach.
Problem is I need a 5-6ft rod so I can use it on the boat & Ive no idea what to buy.

My problem is solved, thanks for your suggestions.
I picked up a Berkley DIABLO 6ft 1piece. Not had chance to use it yet, but feels well balanced.

Diablo??
Fisherking,
where did you score the Diablo and how much? I'm interested to see one.
I have had an interesting few weeks wating for the reel to arrive.
Bought the saros off ebay $120 delivered. paid for it, 10 days later i email the seller asking for tracking number. They tell me its out of stock and offer a technium as an alternative. i notice they also sell the saragosa 4000f and ask for that or a refund.
sure thing they say and 2 days later they say its shipped.
next day I receive an email from ebay saying the seller has been removed from ebay and to now take the appropriate steps through paypal to retrieve my money. i email the seller and no reply.
shit shit shit is all i can think.
lodge a claim with paypal and waiting waiting waiting.
in the mean time I've bought a shimano raider mexican fire 7ft. still no reel for it.
over 4 weeks now gone and still no reel and money back from paypal.
cant wait any longer, so jump in the car 8am saturday and buy a stradic 5000fj. very happy with the reel and the white body looks great on the red rod.
now 3 days later what should come in the mail.............a saragosa 4000f!!!
I'm not complaining and the Mrs isnt asking too many questions.
but here i am again, need another rod now for either a saragosa 4000f or a stradic 5000fj.
i'm liking the idea of the 6foot rod, so any info you can provide would be great.
cheers

Picked it up from Jet cycles
Picked it up from Jet cycles in Gosnells.
I think it was the last one.
It's pretty stiff & I've been using it on the boat with bigger plastics. Still hasn't had a decent fish on it but it looks bling.
& only $100.
