plague of choppers

Went out last night with Sandy and bro in law hoping to get him onto a good snapper. But every time the bait hit the water there were plagues of choppers hitting the bait and stripping the hooks in a very short time.
with the sounder showing masses of color we figured there was heaps of whitebait under us as every time a chopper came up on the hook it was spewing whitebait everywhere. all choppers caught were between 20 and 25 cm. plenty of whitebait and plenty of choppers means plenty of food for snapper and not even getting a single hookup but hey , thats fishing for you.
looks like it might be a good year for the taylor fishos down here in mandurah.

Change to placcies
If thats the case, that way you should be able to get down past the choppers or use jigs.
