placement of transducer in tinny

Went to install the transducer on the tinny to discover all the chines are only about 10cm apart where the flat part of the hull is. Where would be the best place to mount it as I have never encounted this problem before. I know it needs clean water

I would put it on a slider and drop it deep when you are using it and remove when not.

Yup definitely put on a slider

Allows easy beach launch and retrieve as you can lift the transducer out of the way and avoid any damage.   I filled my slider to a piece of wood and had two G clamps to fix it to the back of the boat....this allows heaps of adjustment to find the perfect spot....then mark it on the wood and the hull with indelible marker pen. RTM had sliders last time I was in there

Something like this

Sun, 2023-07-30 15:37

 https://www.tradeinn.com/waveinn/en/seanox-sliding-transducer-bracket-330-mm/137923382/p?utm_source=google_products&utm_medium=merchant&id_producte=12263710&country=au&gad=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwlJimBhAsEiwA1hrp5p6GxFwp1iPXnLpdWk9Y4FH95rh_tAoZIVxhLbBNU7v9mMkQ3bOxxxoCx90QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Will allow you some depth without the tightening handle to be too deep.

You can get many types from places like BCF or Anaconda etc.
