Peaceful Bay

I have read plenty about this spot and have never been there. Bit of mixed reading when it comes to launch & retrieve, more the latter. Anyone here going or been there recently?

I will be with 18ft fibreglass, triton with decent tyres. I am thinking it will be ok but wondering is there a 4wd track onto the beach, much bouncing around or is it a hard track down onto hard beach.

Have you beeen this time of year and how rough does it get?

Whats the facilities like, should I bring my own portable toilet? Showers any good? BBQ's? I know they have told my wife everyhting is pristine( cause thats what she wants to hear) but I am hoping others views will help prepare to make it a comfortable time away.

If you are heading down let me know. Could be a chance of deckie spot.

Thanks in advance.

Cravan park is nice. Ablution

Cravan park is nice. Ablution blocks in pretty good condition and normally clean. Normally plenty of hot water in the showers.
Most campsites have some shade and some grass.
The boat ramp has a really good hard rd down to it and the beach is very solid. lots of people drive 2wds on the beach.
There is a finger jetty there for launching and retreiving.
The beach stays shallow a fair way so if you trailer is a bit sticky it can be tricky to get the boat off and then its a fair bit of winching to get it back on.
The sand will suck your trailer tyres in so get your boat on as quick as possible then reverse back a little bit to clear he suction from the tyres before going forward.
If you are reasonably efficient at launching your boat you will be fine.
When coming back between the rocks in the channel if the swell is up it can be a bit sketchy so just make sure your in before the wind picks up.

There is some good ground out there so you should be able to find a feed.
