Ocean Reef Marina Meeting

Found this on another site so thought I’d post here also… Ocean Reef is our local ramp and I am for the project to go ahead.
Can’t attend personally on Tuesday so hopefully the word will get out and others may attend.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Ocean Reef Marina project has now reached a critical stage.

A concept plan suitable for release for public comment is imminent.

A meeting of council will be held at City of Joondalup Council Civic Chambers on Tuesday 5th May at 6.30p.m.

The aim of this meeting is to gain council approval to release the concept plan for public comment.

There are however, a small yet determined and influential group who are likely to oppose the development on environmental grounds.

From what I have seen during the project, the environmental impact whilst real, is manageable and in the longer term, will in fact enhance the areas environmental significance.

What we need are as many enthusiastic supporters as possible to fill the public gallery on the 5th and to ensure that they demonstrate very clearly their support for a new marina.

As noted there is a small minority opposing the development, who in the past have been successful in blocking previous proposals (due to lack of support).

Please,
let’s show our support with numbers!!!

This is an email from our club and i thought any other fishos or boaties that want to see a new and much needed Marina in the area should attend the meeting.

Ive been told under good authority that ORSSC get a good number of reduced rate pens allocated to their members.

Something worth thinking about if you have or are thinking of getting a larger boat.

OTSSC gets good club rooms for you fellas

it also would be nice to see club house/ramps/secure parking for members etc.  I'm not bragging but something like CPBA, where you can go fishing, lock car/trailer in secure compound and enjoy fishing without the thought of bugger car/trailer been broken into.  Been up there once with Bob on a AAA state championship fishing, couldn't believe how nothing was secure RE: parking.  Think Hillarys is the same, correct me if I'm wrong.

No need to be corrected Roberta

Both car parks are not secure but there is enough traffic and people around to keep the unwanted away. I have been thinking about joining ORSSC for some time but it looks like I better pull my finger out before they end up with a waiting list after the project announcement Surprised

Cheers,

David
