i am goin to kalbarri in 2-3 weeks for a few days of fishing probably goin to go out on the boat 1 day but for the rest i will only be able to do landbased fishing so just a few questions.
in the river what species am i most likely to catch?
what strength line would be the best for lures up there or am i better off using a certain type of braid?
what are the best lures i should get before i go?
are soft plastics good to use? cause i have never used them so i will need to practice when i get up there aswell
and are lures or bait best to use
any help and tips would be much appreciated
thanks danny.

Hi Danny
I only got back from kalbarri last week and had an absalute ball!!! I get up there at least a couple times a year and over the last ten have caught some awesome fish. For anyone that wants to have some fun give chinamans a crack before sunset...i have seen hundreds of croakers pulled from that little groin including several over 20kg taken by yours truely
. Dont get complicated just some good mulies on a gang with a running spoon.
Cant really offer any advise on plastics as i am only converting now but using them from boats. Im sure using some big poppers around the blue holes would work a treat!!
As for your day out in the boat make sure you travel to some clean water and you will find mackies plentiful! We were in 40m before we could find them but they were thick.
Hope it helps Danny im sure you will catch a feed but most important enjoy the awesome place that it is ;)
