Nice day out
With the forcast to be nice we decided to go out and give it a bash.
We were heading out to some new ground that looked good but had to cut it short when i discovered a leak in the hydraulic steering which made it very hard to steer. Abandoned the trip out deep and decided as we were aut we may as well have a fish. Still had some steering. Had a look at a bit of ground on the gps that looked possible only 1nm awY . Set up the drift with little wind so no need for sea anchor. First fish on was a nice 40cm foxy . Then to my surprize a nice big kg came to the surface. I was stoked. As the drift continued i got a small pinky that went back. Sandy then got another nice kg. It went quiet so back to the start of the drift again . Hooked up again this time a small dhuie of about 450 went back well. Hooked up to the bottom and busted off both hooks and while i was trying to re rig Sandy nailed another 4 nice kgs. After that only a few small fish came up and all went back fine. Called it a day and cruised in on around the 25 knots.
Keepers 1foxy and 6 kgs. Released 2 small pinks 1 small dhuie and a tiny black ass. So it was a good mornig in the end. Certainly looking forward to a feed of kg.
