The ci4 is a nice reel and I

The ci4 is a nice reel and I haven't used the new ci4+ but it seems like weight is about the only difference between the two. They've jacked the price up a bit for the ci4+ so I'd personally go the old version as the weight for a reel that small (I'm assuming a 2500) wouldn't be something I'd be too concerned about.

Mind you, in the end I'd go the stradic fj over both and save myself around $100 for braid and other assorted goodies.

Well it's always going to be a personal thing but for the price difference I'd be going with the fj. I've got a 3000 (2500 with a deeper spool) and a 5000 and they're great reels for the price. Your best bet is to go down to your local tackle store and have a feel of all three for yourself.

For light spin stuff I mostly use a Tica Crisp-x but I've recently become a bit of a T-curve fan. What sort of budget are you looking at mate?

For that sort of price I'd

For that sort of price I'd probably be looking at either a berkley dropshot or a pflueger trion, but again, make sure you head down to your local tackle store and give a few rods a feel. Different strokes for different folks.

New Rod and Reel

Not sure what your budget is, but I have a Rarenium 4000 CI4 FA, little more expensive but comes with 2 spools, not sure if the Stradic does.

I love the Rare, have landed some awesome stuff on it. Either matched to my T Curve Barra Spin Rod or the Penn Prevail for Surf work.

As I said, not sure what your budget is
