New boat

New boat finally arrived! Sold the reefy back in august so have been mostly land locked since then! Hanging out to get out for a fish. 3 weeks and will be in shark bay, so bit of a rush to run it in!!
Took it out in the chop on Sunday and eats it up. Bit bigger than I'm used to, but handles great. Love the caribbeans!

Nice
I agree Caribbeans are great boats. I had a Reef Runner when I was in Karratha 40 years ago.

Plenty of deck space and storage for all the gear up front. Are they air ride seats .
Many hours of joy on the way

If I had the choice on trailer boats this would be one of them.

Great boat Sea Goat! I spent
Great boat Sea Goat! I spent nearly 2 weeks fishing out of a Caribbean 2300 in Exmouth and the Mackerel Islands and it was awesome! The only criticsm was it had some hard diamond-shaped treatment on the floor and when you're walking on that every day for 12 days your feet bloody hurt! I see you've got the much more feet-friendly deck.
We punched back into a howling sou'wester from the islands to Exmouth which took us 5 hours. The boat was great and never did I feel unsafe. Just very uncomfortable!

Epic boat mate congrats!! I seriously considered 1 of these myself, ended up going with the Stabicraft 2400 HardTop which I'm still wrapped with. How much she end up weighing on the trailer?

Thats around 3.2T dry?
Thats around 3.2T dry? Weight was the reason I didnt go ahead with a carribean. My Stabi sits at around 3400kg wet, loaded for a trip north. My tuned 200 towing the stabi to the mackerel islands did around 22/100 punching into a fair headwind most the way north, was slightly better heading back south, and we weent hanging around, 100-110 most the way (fair bit more with overtaking). Did I read right that your planning a trip to denham/shark bay soon? Thinking of heading their myself in next 2 weeks or so for a few days if I can get away from work....

yeah, was estimating the 2300
yeah, was estimating the 2300 will be 3.2 with 1/2 a tank of fueland a bit of water/gear . just an estimate though. will have to weigh it so i can know what room i have to play with. they are a heavy boat tho, i looked at the numbers for a caribbean 2400, but there was no way i could keep it under 3.5 with twins.
wewill be heading up on the 16-23rd march, staying at monkey mia, but wil be fishing out of both sides. hopefully weather plays nice! will keep our eyes peeled for a big stabi! my mate has the stabi 1550 and froths over them. they are an awesome boat!

Tidy
Very tidy rig. Wouldn't even notice the chop I reckon.

so for those who are
so for those who are interested,
had the boat and car etc weighed by "weigh my caravan". great service. met me down at hilalrys and did all the numbers. very informative, and would highly recomend.
so boat with 1/2 tank (200l fuel) 40l water and limited gear was 3.28.
gcm came in well under, about 500kg to sare.
ball weight 215kg.
biggest limiting factor is actually gvm of the cruiser and the atm of the trailer.
trailer atm is 3.45. in hindsight i belive these should come wiht a slightly higher rated trialer (next one up is 40kg heavier but gives about 200kg more atm), just for a bit more redundancy.
cruiser gvm legal, but pretty much wipes out any payload. gvm upgrade to 3850 will adress this easily as axle weight all still well in the clear.
so as long as dont go stupid, with gear ( will likely transport gear in the car to minimise trailer weight) and for long trips tow with less fuel, wil be well and truly legal. fuel usage will still suck lol! theya re a heavy boat, but always knew there wouldbe some compomises.
if i could do it again, would definitely go a bit higher on the trialer atm. just means storing with full fuel etc would be easier to achieve.
did make me wonder abut how many boats/caravans being towed are overweight tho.....

Good info there mate, thanks
Good info there mate, thanks for that. Looking pretty good with the weights, as stated loaded ready to go (eskies and ice, fridges, gear, fuel, water, camping gear etc) defnitely becomes a challenge.
