hi guys,
im looking to purchase a rod for my stella 4000fd but dont know where to start. the stella will be spooled with 20lb braid so i need something that will handle it with ease. I was thinking of something around the 7' mark, and must me 2 piece.
I have been looking at some g loomis but there seems to be so many to choose from and i dont know where to start, also been looking at a hearty rise sylphy and they seem alrite but id like a few more suggestions.
price range up to $400.

I really like the T-Curve
I really like the T-Curve Saltwater spin 5-10kg in the Shimano range. I'm running one of my Sustain 4000 with 20lb braid and ive caught pinkies, dhuies, gummy sharks, black bum, harleys, rays and heaps of other stuff and its handled them all easily.
Cost around $400 as well mate :)

I second the T-curve
I have the same Saltwater Spin 5-10kg matched up to a Saragosa 4000, sensational rod and reel combo, even better if the reels a Stella

samurai reaction 10-17lb
samurai reaction - mmmm very very nice, do a sweet two piece as well, I picked up a 6-12lb one last week for my 2500 hyper and whilst it is yet to get a fish it casts like a dream with pe1.5 and light jig heads.

I'm thinking of putting a little bit of tennis racquet grip across the uncovered section so the blank doesn't get damaged when in holders/rocket launcher. I was going to use the rod heat shrink grip but don't think I'll be able to get it over the butt cap.

here'a couple of photos of mine loaded up on a sambo out with Gully a few weeks ago. Reel is a Twin Power 5000 with 20lb braid. Not really the sort of fishing it was designed for but it still knocked the fish over. I wouldn't really stick it any higher than that though.
