I would suggest you visit
I would suggest you visit one of the sponsors and they will give you better advice on the rods and you can feel the action, i usually source it online, but have a look at the lemax, xzoga, majorcraft rods, reels is same deal daiwa, shimano, abu garcia, online can easily get a great outfit but for $600 but warranty the issue.

Say a mid range 4000 size
Say a mid range 4000 size reel (Daiwa Tierra or Shimano Stradic) with 20 lb braid and say 7ft rod in that budget.
I have a Tierra 4000 and Tierra 7ft medium heavy action 17 lb rod. Perfect for softies and can use up to 3 oz jig head at a pinch, although 1/5 to 1 oz is preferred.
I hooked a big dhu in Jurien on this rig, proved to be a bit much but I suspect it was a 10 kg plus fish based on the next on the next one that was landed that was 8 kg. Hooked only a few meters from the bottom and dhu on light gear have a lot more power than people think.
Any heavier than this will not really be right for soft plastics in my opinion.....BUT, then again, this type of set up is not exactly perfect for demersal jigging, where a shorter jig rod like the Hearty Rise Jig Force would be better, but not as good on soft plastics.....difficult call, I bought both.

I just got a sol 4000 and a jigforce rod from luke at all boats
Must say very happy with it so far. Running 40 lb braid and mono backing got the whole 300m of braid on the reel and the sol comes with a spare spool. the rod is for 80 -150 jigd and it worked well with hte plackys last weekednd as well.. Very happy so far.. You may just need to stretch that buget a little further

Soft Plastic jigging rod.
The Jig Force are great little jig stock for PE3 but a little short to be working the SP effectively. I'd go slightly longer, no more than 7ft.
Other choices are:
HR Sylphy 6'5" PE2-3 80gm and 60gm model.
Eupro Twincraft 6'2" PE 1.5-3 max jig wt 120gm.
Both are fairly firm and fast action and are ideal for softplastic jigging with heavy jigheads.
