Good Timing
I've just posted a report on our Kalbarri trip, hope it helps. I would say dawn fishing for tailor at any of the beaches down the road heading south is a good bet for shore based. Way bigger than metro tailor.
If we can hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

heaps of spots
there, try wittacarra creek beach for tailor, mulloway and whiting, dart on light gear.try the gorges south of town for rock fishing, but use caution as there are big waves in there, for snapper and jumbo tailor.the river mouth is a safe place for soapie mulloway and tailor at dusk, and late in the night for the big ones.and these the jetties for a whole variety of estuary specieses and mulloway.
or u can c bob on the kalbarri explorer charter.
happy hunting,
marty

Fishing is boring, unless you catch an actual fish, and then it is disgusting.

hey unless you are fishing
hey unless you are fishing from the beach there is alot of reef just offshore at kalbarri which can be a pain if you are beach angling. using poppers seems to be the go up there i think cause they always on teh surface so you dont get snagged.
if there are tailor around which is what kalbarri is famous for they will hit your poper. i also landed a 8.5KgAmberjack off the rockslast year when i was up there os if i was you you might want to give they a try. Burley up also!! cat food with sardines in the wash line is a good idea and cheap as chips.

Thanks Collie, Yea we will
Thanks Collie,
Yea we will be on the bach wont be out on a boat at all. Boyfriend is pretty keen to get the poppers out there. i would love to catch a snapper from the shore i have only caught them deep sea which is alot of fun but it would be pretty wild catching a big one off the beach.
Didnt know about all the snags thanks for the heads up.
