plenty of options but depends what your chasing.....

big boats mean wide exploring the islands/gulfs/archipalegoes/river/creeks. just look at a few charts....

small boats means plenty of beach/river/creek options and Barra.......

towns are towns, it's what you make of them.

My wife grew up in Derby and didn't have....great things to say about it. Its a small town obviously, but from a fishing point of view it can be great she says (never been up myself). The cherabin and mudcrab can be fantastic, def something I want to make a trip up there for.

Taught with quite a few teachers over the years who have spent time in Derby, most really enjoyed their time there. Like damo said its what you make it.

Currently in Perth at the moment on holidays from Knx, can honestly say that apart from family and a few good friends, Perth itself isn't floating my boat.
