If you want to catch tailor
If you want to catch tailor or mulloway fish the river mouth towards the ocean when the mouth breaks or head north up the beach to the old rock groin infront of the light house. if you have a 4x4 go up the beach from the groin to where there is a big beach before the sand gets really soft and the beach narrows and fish the southern side of the reef meeting the beach this is one of my favorite tailor spots and often produces tailor and mulloway too. hope that helps and if you want more info ill try to help.

Not a lot of shelter
It's pretty open coastline up there. Once the southerly sets in it's tough. There is also quite a bit of weed around the beaches at the moment.
The river itself has plenty of really pretty sheltered spots and there are some good Bream to be had....it's lots of fun. I often fish the river when the weather is crap.

Thanks for info guys. Gave it a shot and managed a couple of smallish tailor but wind was unreal. Still have a few more chances yet. Cheers
