Monkey Mia
Hey guys,
Picked up a rod for the first time in over 20 years the other week and (unfortunately for my wife and kids) the bug has bitten.....
We are going to pack up and head to Denham/Monkey Mia for a week just before easter and was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what to expect fishing wise? I know it is a bit of a noob question but having not fished for so long I want to be able to purchase (again unfortunately for the wife) all the gear I need to make sure we catch afew fish to throw on the BBQ.
Obviously already have the rig - so question is in regards to terminal tackle, lures etc etc Any suggestions in regards to bait/locations would be gratefully received.
At this point I am going to be land based so it mean jetties and beaches.
Have really enjoyed reading the forums over the last couple of weeks and look forward to posting some pics of any decent catches in the future.
Trev.

sharks at sunset into the night
when i was there in 2005 xmas new years break, there were yelowfin whiting,in the mornings and afternoons, sharks on sunset ,using livies on a metre of 150lb mono using hoodlums 7/0 hooks snooded, using trumpeter as live baits and the sharks come within a metter of shore, ranging from a foot to the big bities, which were unstoppable on 20 lb main line, but i also found denham jettys good for pinkies, whitting ,squid, golden trevellys, plenty of sharks and rays,i even hooked the local groper which i lost due to a birds nest on my reel, nearly going of the edge of the jetty, slaming me into the jetty post at the end of the jetty, but got my son to pass me a knife to cut him off,but i plan to go back 1 day soon
