Mosman Park jetty is normally ok this time of year

Mon, 2009-06-29 19:46

I would only fish there in the evening or early in the morning though - the blowies can be bad otherwise.

The jetty at Nedlands - where Jojos is - is alright for flathead at night. You can actually see the flathead under the lights, so it is a case of seeking them out and then throwing a bait and dragging it past their noses.

i have been researching HEAPS recently cos i can get out due to the weather.

i came across steve correia's 'how to' videos on bream with mussels.

does anyone know where to get some fresh mussles from? it looked like they were just plucking them out from under the jetty or whatever they were on.

Mon, 2009-06-29 21:26

is it that they go for more 'natural' colours? i picked up the pink/yellow one (R1).

does anyone have suggestions on which lure to get started in the swan north to narrows bridge? id be happy with flathead or bream...actually anything besides blowies!

freo traffic bridge/epsom ave park/abernerthy rd

Wed, 2009-07-01 07:53

Freo traffic bridge used to be worth a try, head out there on the planks beneath the pylons.  Just get the mussles off the pylons for bait, grab a handful, stomp on em and chuck that into the river for burley.

Epsom ave in redcliffe has a tiny park at the end of the st on the river, out the front of the old ascot pub is a small jetty and in the park next to it on either side there are always people there fishing for bream.

End of Abernerthy rd in Cloverdale has a little park/boatramp, has a little sandy spit to fish off and the jetty at sandringham hotel about 150 mt to the west.  Good for familys as has toilets.  Always people fishing all three of these spots, generally late arvo.
