Agree
it wasn't a Swordfish, but it wasn't a Saw Shark either. A Saw Shark is different to a Saw Fish.

Always a great watch !
Having grown up watching his footage and expeditions through the Kimberly it was fantastic to watch this last bit of footage .......but age had well and truely caught up with the old fella.
To go through life the way he did exploring the kimberley wilderness areas .....well its just a real shame that he died the way he did ......he should have gone out in a blaze of glory somewhere in his beloved Kimberly.
Rest In Peace Mal , thanks for all the great memories !

I agree Indiana
I enjoyed the show but we seemed to be going from one calamity to another and age could well have been the factor. Trebles in legs and fingers, unplanned strandings, dinged prop, whirlpools. As you say he deserved to go out in a better way than he did.
I was fortunate enough to work and live on Koolan Island in the mid to late eighties and have seen some of the places such as Talbot Bay, the horizontal water fall and amazing sights the huge tides offer. A truly mind blowing place.
RIP Malcolm Douglas.

might be mistaken.....
but a few of us in this household all agree we have seen some of that footage before...like the boat getting sucked into that whirlpool etc.
regardless hes a legend and it makes me wanna explore up north

Was great to watch. Hope chanel 7 plays some of older docs as well. He had a passion for the Kimberley. Will be missed by all. RIP Malcolm

last nights show....
was exerts from old docos.... and the strandings were actually planned so he can explain what happens if you are caught out up there..........you think a man of that calibre would make a mistake like that...... lived in the kimberleys for 40 years... i dont think so..... he did it so we can learn from him........

Malcom D
What a tragedy! I have personally spent time with Malcom thanks to Mark Jones, his and my old camera man. Malcom is a true Aussie icon and some one I have admired for a very long time. It is dissapointing to see that it takes the death of a legend to make people realise how important protecting places like the Kimberley really are. Maybe now people will wake up and place our beloved kimberley onto the world heritage list where it belongs! Will miss you old mate!
Cheers - Nick Hocking.
