Catfish feeding on burnt corpses
Fears it is now eating unwary swimmers
Biologist Jeremy Wade studying its habits
A MUTANT fish has started killing people after feeding on human corpses dumped in a river, scientists believe.
The catfish, called a goonch, may have developed a taste for human flesh in an Indian river where bodies are dumped after funerals, The Sun reported.
Locals believe the fish has moved on from scavenging to snatching bathers who swim in the Great Kali, located along the India-Nepal border.
Biologist Jeremy Wade is investigating the creature.
"The locals have told me of a theory that this monster has grown extra large on a diet of partially burnt corpses. It has perhaps got this taste for flesh by feasting on remains of funeral pyres," he said.
"There will be a few freak individuals that grow bigger than the other ones and if you throw in extra food, they will grow even bigger.”
Mr Wade said he caught one which tipped the scales at 73kg and was nearly 6ft long.
“If that got hold of you, there’d be no getting away," he said.

cat fish eats dog!
Cat fish attacks on swiming dogs in Africa have been well documented. They have a liking for small dogs swiming in the shallows and will also take water fowl. these catfish often called Vundu, can grow to 2m in size.
big tiger fish to 1,5m have also been know to take small animals as well and swimmers have been bitten before....
So the fish strike back....!!!

fishing Tigers
fishing for Tiger fish is about the most awsome fresh water fishing in the world. I recon they out strip Barra for fighting and the smashing of lures into pieces is not un-heard off in the hot season.
A big 80cm Tiger fish will jump out of the water and take a small mouse,or bird or lizard out of the over hanging branches on Lake Kariba. National Geographic did some film footage back in the early 80's of the bigger fish hunting chicks out of low nests. These fish would leap about 30~50cm out of the water to try and dislodge young chicks from low nests.
We use to use day-old chicks from the broilers and even white mice as live bait... ( yes I know, not the done thing...but back in those days it was...) A chick would float for no more than few minutes before being smashed like some micro scene from Jaws!!!!!

Or they could make one of those bloody hoorible relatity/survivor programs out of it! The plot - the Goonch wins and eats all the contestants - the idiot producers and staff can't get any more contestants so they go in it themselves. Outcome - all possible contestants and staff of any possible survivor/reality show are all whiskered away. Yay! No more stupid reality/survivor shows!

I can see it now, an old indian lady washing her families clothes in the brown dirty river and the Goonch swims silently towards the unsespecting woman. She leans over to scrub a pair of undies when the monster leaps out of the water and grabs her by the head draging her under and eating her whole oblivious to the other 50 people near by also washing there clothes!

Anyone seen frankenfish?
Thats basically it, these 3m fish eat all these people in a river system.. Was pretty good. They are a mix between a catfish and a pirana pretty much.

Those catfish in India are
now going down with MAD HUMAN DISEASE !!! They are eating the humans that eat the fish that eat the humans that ea..
Seriously though just imagine the state of those rivers if those fish werent there to eat the corpses !!
