Hey Bodie

You still have to get the goggles and snorkels on, best to get out to the islands and have a go out in the shallows there. I never seen anyone walking around picking them up....sorry.

Karratha Crays

Fri, 2008-09-19 13:45

Bodie, there are certainly spots over at the islands where you can collect crays on the low tides. I don't know of any land based spots I can help you with, but maybe some of the other locals fellas can help.

Fozz.

Happens at Gnaraloo too where you can walk and the feelers are sticking outa the holes. Never seen it, but heard from a few of the stationhands I was mates with.

We got some low tides here at the moment, getting outa tantas in a decent rig would suck.  But should be good to go and find some occy holes.

don't know of any land based spots, but I know there are heaps of spots out at the islands where you can get 'em on the low tides.

sorry mate

it's correct that tides this time of year are lower than usual, what I meant to say is that the 4th isn't the lowest...

You need to get friendly with someone that works for the Dampier Port Authority.

They have a little notebook they give to employees that gives the tides by the hour for the whole year.

Got something to do with getting tankers in and out of the port.
