Kalbarri in March
Submitted by Colin Hay on Wed, 2008-12-24 10:21
I am thinking of heading up to Kalbarri in March to try some landbased fishing.
Has anyone had any experience fishing there at that time of the year?
I am wondering what the winds are like and whether there are still big tailor and mulloway around then.
Many thanks, Colin Hay

Not an expert
But have been there a few times in Feb/March over the years. Have found the winds to be strong one day and non existent the next. If you asked about the tailor and mulloway 20 years ago I would have said YES they are there but as it has been 6 years since I was there last I can't answer for now. What I can say is it gets bloody hot that time of year even when the wind is blowing.
Cheers,
David
PS... I believe there are a couple of locals from up there on here that may be able to help you more than I can

Worth a Trip Anyway
Colin, all the reports are that plenty of action is still there for the people who are keen. I may well be interested in a trip for a few days around that time. If you feel like teaming up please PM me and we can talk about it.
Cheers, Vince

Hey Col 1
Any time can be a good time. Wind should be backing off by then ( only about 30 kn at the moment ). There are always fish around. Give me a yell when you want to come up. Should be able t point you in the right direction and if the weather and work permits get you out in the tub. Macks and tuna are already here so by then should be going off.
Cheers Mick
