Kalbarri Fishing

Hi there,
Heading up to Kalbarri at the start of June for a week with the missus and want to know whether to fish off the beach, get on a boat or do something other than fish. I'll know I'll need some down time somewhere though!!! Come from the good old Goldie 5 months ago so don't know much about the North so any advice would be good.

Kalbarri Fishing
Russ (or Sandy) have the right idea... but June can get windy at times. Haven't been up there for 8 years but if land based try the ocean gorges swell dependant but we found whitticarra creek (spell check) the best, and easiest for beach fishing for tailor and mulloway. This is where I got my missus "hooked" on fishing after she caught her first mulloway (28 pounder the biatch) and tailor.
If the winds are up you have the option of bream, tailor and soapy mulla's in the river, near the jetty or the sandbank if it's still there.
Depends on the weather and winds at the time.... If they are crap then "Do other than fish" lol

June is often big tailor time at Kalbarri
I would plan to take a decent beach rod, some size 4/0 to 5/0 ganged hooks and to throw out a whole mullet or garfish at Chinamans.
