Info wanted on this 3.9mtr Dinghy please.

This Dinghy has a folded/rolled/pressed & welded hull.

The name "Sandman" still legible on the stern.

Would anybody know what brand this could be?

Looking at the hull shape ,this could be a very smooth riding unit. (fot a catfood tin)

From the rego it seems to be an old made boat 37#*#

Have to get a HIN # and re register this one.

Also what max HP outboard would it handle?

Have an 18HP, a 8HP or a 3.3HP for it.

It looks like a 18 would make it sing.

Thank you up front for your input.

Too much

Sat, 2011-07-02 22:05

Had one the same with a 15 on the back and used to get speed wobbles WOT with only one person in it. Its got soft chines that don't provide the lift and stability for the bigger horsepower.

Definitely a Dogget.

Thank you for indentifying it as a doggett.

Found some pictures on a site of our state libary with the same boat.

Must have been made here in Perth.

stated that Muhlins marine was the retailer!

Now to find a more suiteable trailer then my box trailer for easy no fuss launching .

Well this one is a sweet

Tue, 2011-07-19 20:11

Well this one is a sweet ride with an 18HP Tohaszu, it absolutly flies.

Rides the chop brilliantly for a catfood tinny!

Bit like riding a motorcross bike, such a feeling of freedom and also the fact that you are very funarable out there compared to a much bigger boat!

Now to mod it a bit more!

Trailer issue has been adressed.

Thanks all for the info, tinny has been blooded today!
