hey guys
just wondering if anyone clears theirs tracks after each fishing trip or leaves them recorded so to avoid them next time. (unless good ground there)

If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Leaving the track back on
Leaving the track back on can be extremely useful.
Especially when someone( a certain site admin) rings you up to borrow a gps as theirs has broke. They where smart enough to delete the GPS spots they put in but the track back was still there.....

Gps track
i clear the track just after leaving the ramp so you get to c the last trip and when you have cleard the track you are not using up as much of your memory so your gps goes quicker ,thats just whot i do

I usually leave it on - mine
I usually leave it on - mine only holds a certain amount of track so clears it as it reaches a certain point (can set to dedicate say 20% of memory to track option so it doesn't use up all the memory), - is usefull to know where you've been. At certain locations it comes in handy when navigating back through channels and cutting across a sandbar from the channel - I just follow my previous track home and don't run aground (after having a look to note how much of the oyster lease is out/under water).

I run 2 GPS systems
I leave the track marks on the chart plotter/sounder combo and clear the track marks on the other dedicated GPS, which I use for purely for setting drift lines.
I guess that gives me best of both worlds.
Agree that track marks are good for avoiding going over the same ground thus increasing the chances of finding new ground.
