Ok pick up a couple of jigs , a 2.5 is a pretty good size and a 3.0 is just a tad bigger but is better in deeper areas

Colours that work for most are pinks,oranges,greens and the natural ones are the go for me usually, especially in the day.

As for technique- Cast out as far as you can, let it sink to the bottom (just count to 10 or 15 to be safe) and work the jig back towards you like a fleeing prawn or crustation, just a couple of jigs, then wait a couple of seconds then repeat and continue the action all the way to the shore.

When a squid latches on, maintain tension and just wind him in they dont really put up much of a fight until they are big ones.

Mix up the jigs and speeds and dont be afraid to experiment.

Can catch them all through the day , sunrise and sunset are the best times but who the hell wants to wake up at sunrise anyway haha. Also night time is quite good under a lit up area like a jetty or dock

Any places where there are patches of weed has a good chance of holding squid

look for weed and spotlights at night attract squid.

there is good mulloway to be had of the busso jetty but best conditions are when it is real stormy and most use a handline to bull them in before they bust you up on the pylons

ah the bussso jetty is closed but isnt it? well most of it i was just gunna try jigging for squid but might cast a line out for some fish to, guess the usual would be out there whiting, herring tailor?

i'd just say i lost my dog while i was fishing on the beach and it ran up the jetty , just cover up the squid.

Theres plenty of other good spots around busselton , most jettys would do fine if theres any broken weed patches or reef around

yeh......serious or not.....$500 fine and a conviction for trespassing is to be taken seriously.
The first platform is where the closed section start, so there's still somewhere to squid. Ive caught plenty from there before. Just be creative, dont just cast infront of you, go left and cast along the jetty. Its reasonably shallow there, so go a #2.5 or 3.0. Colours vary abit so carry a variation of colours.
