Gnaraloo fishing?

Trying to get some information on fishing off Gnaraloo. Was going to go up to exmouth but decided to try somewhere new in early May.
Don't know wether to take my 12ft tinny or 17ft savage or just stick to exploring and casting a few lures off the beaches. Not out to kill the pig but a few spanglies for the table and a bit of sportfishing would be good.
Any info will be most appreciated, Ta

17ft savage
Take the 17ft savage, as long as the trailer is in good nick. Plenty of good spots to fish out of Gnaraloo Bay as you head north.

benny bopster Cheers for the advice but am worried about fuel for the bigger boat. Can you get fuel at the station? Also is it safe with the 12ft dingy and pick up some pelagics?

Take the bigger boat, you can launch off the beach. You can organise fuel with the station, they buy back any you don't use (at a reduced price)
I've seen tinnies there but the weather has to be almost perfect for the 12ft one.

I'd take the 17ft
I have been to Gnaraloo with my 3.9 metre Tinnie and caught a sh#tload of baldies, Trevs and some good mackies but I spent the whole week wishing I had 17/18 foot boat watching all the Reds and Rankines coming in every day. Also caught some great fish off the rocks and beaches including Spangles, Big tailor and some massive sharks. (Saw a guy in the bay one night swimming in from his big boat after mooring it with a fin out of the water about 10 metres behind him.)

Reds and Rankins are great but there is only so much my girl and I can eat in one day. Might just take the tinnie and have a little fun.

take the 17 foot. more options
just take it easy on the dirt road in obviously
should be a good trip.

In a word it's HEAVEN. Yep 17ft easy. Watch tracks. I'm going 13-20 may and we're taking 2 x 5.5m ali's in. Biggest beach launch we saw last year was 6.8m olympian. ALWAYS use reo-bar grates on beach for retreive as sand gets soft, real soft - even if using 4x4. Good ground in 40-50m and not that far out. look for coral in shallow parts of bay and memorise the sounder return for when you get deep as big patches of coral with not much inbetween them but GRINNERS and CHARLIES. Watch sanctuary zones and put em in your GPS or u will get pinged. ensure station places your fuel out a day before you arrive or the "crud" will foul your filters...be nice and polite to your neighbours up there and they may show you spots, if not say hi and get their names/call signs for radio contact as it can be a dangerous and isolated place. take some mouse traps....good luck
