If it's an ali boat i'd be going for ali. Less chance of disimilar metal corrosion. Cheaper and lighter option as well cause if you were going for stainless you'd want to use 316 and probably a minimum of 3mm sheet.
my only problem is that the ribs are all very close together around the 300mm mark and not very deap. could possibly put the tank in link under transom but still ontop of floor
Certainly would be the way to go, but they're not cheap. It was a while ago i looked into them and from memory 110lt would have cost a bit over a grand to get one sent over from US. postage was phenomenal I could be wrong but i think it was twice the cost of the actual tank. All boats i think were the local dealer but got the same story from the distributer apparently they dont hold any stock in australia and you still get hit with the postage.
They do make some great tanks though, all shapes and sizes. high volume and low profile too which would've been great for what i was after.
Do you have an existing cavity for a tank, or are you planing on cutting into the floor/hull. Is the boat fiberglass or alloy. What capacity are you thinking of. Fill point at the tank or are you planing on a remote filling point. Why are you thinking of doing this? Where abouts in the boat hull are you thinking of mounting the tank.
I might have got the wrong shop. There's actually two off road stores near each other on Welshpool rd. I think it was Central 4wd accessories they had quite a good range of poly fuel tanks as I was considering putting one in the Triton.
Its a bit odd seeing lot of new cars have poly tanks in as standard, but one of the local rotomould places was only doing diesel tanks for some reason.
Maybe you need a special resin? Anyone know anything about that?

Or plastic?
Do you have to go custom, or can you use something off the shelf by cruisetank or moeller?

They're moeller tanks.
They're moeller tanks. Perhaps get in touch with the dealer and ask if you can get other models.

What about more details.
