Fishwrecked charter meet?

Just curious if any of the FW members would be keen on hiring a charter for a day and having a fishwrecked fish off, Mano E mano . We can all show of our skills/lack there off. Anyone keen? At a guess leave from hillaries as thats the norm.

Charter

Could be a good idea Shizz. If theres enough interest we'll work things out a bit more. With most members having a berth on a boat it might make things a little difficult, but we'll see how we go. I'm going out on a charter from two rocks on the 25th, will see how good they are. Might be worth heading out of town to a spot where there are some decent fish, bit over the metro desert.

Not 100% sure, I haven't organised it, I'm just jumping onboard with the g.friends family. Got plenty of fishing coming up over Easter before then down at Denmark.

A fishoff

That could be a good idea. Andy Mac had some good ideas about small fishing competitions on a point basis. Seems we have a few punters, maybe we should organise the Fishwrecked 2006 Fishing Invitational!

Charter get together

Tue, 2006-04-04 12:59

Nah, its still on the cards. Where would everyone prefer to go out from and with who?

I don't want to go out on one of the north metro desert charters. Would people be keen to go from Mandurah or Two Rocks or is metro just easier. We could always teamster the cars if we want to go a bit out of town, just a thought.

Would everyone be ok for a Sunday charter, as its probably the most easiest to organise work commitments wise. It will have to be in a few weeks time as well as I'm out of here to fish the great southern thursday week.

ambitious, but how about the GREAT GT NORTHERN EXPEDITION

phwoar.

I propose a winter jigging expedition on north star 2. (which will gently progress to bait, as they get outfished. aha ;))

Just an idea...

But there is a houseboat you can hire in Flying foam passage on the Burrup Penninsular! It comes with a few alloy RIB ducks things and I have a charter License I lease for that coastal zone, so could actually trailer the boat all the way up there ahead of time!.

I think the houseboat sleeps about a dozen or so...for a week.

Throw in a couple tinnys towed up (if anyone wants to drag theirs along) - you could rotate people thru the various boats on different days.

Guys in the Ribs could fish / flyfish / wade the flats inside Flying foam passage - others could do the offshore sailfish mackeral thing etc etc.

Wouldn't be that hard to organise - one of the boneheads trips went there a couple years back & I think they hada good time from memory!

Like I said - just an idea outta left field!

Another good one, would be a week or so's trip down the coast in the Pilbara, with fuel/food/water dumps on islands along the way...sleep on the islands beaches each night, with a bit of a campfire, from gathered driftwood..

Would take a bit of pre planning and organisation....getting all the logisitics in place, but again emminenetly do-able!!

Cheers!

i know people that have stayed

Wed, 2006-04-05 07:44

I know a people that have stayed on the house boat they had a ball.all range of fish. Even caught 1 or 2 BIG mackies straight of the house, coral trout, chinamen, blue bone and of course big trevs. One of my best fishing memories was just up from this house boat 5kms further up flying foam theres a small island. Every lure in my tackle box was cast with near on every cast producing a 2 to 3 ft trevally it was mined blowing, you would drop a fish only to have another ten climb all over the lure. You good drop a metal straight over the boat and see trvally every where swooping and ducking to get on it .have to addmit though went straight back there the next day and only got a couple of fish between myself and frizza.
Some big sharks for the taking too at night when soaking big baits straight of the house boat and i mean scarey big. You wouldnt be swimming of the boat for long, especialy at night. Well I wouldn't, thats for sure!

cheers mitch

always in it just the depth that varies
