just wondering if any fishing shops are looking for employees around the metro area because i need a christmas holidays job to make a bit of coin

this may be a way out there idea
but maybe go into a few tackle shops (dressed presentably) and ask the question. At least it shows you are keen and actually willing to get off your ass and get out there.

As the other's say, if you're keen and genuine why not actually pop in and ask the question, with resume in hand. Will get a better response than asking on here.
And yes you'll probably find quite a few shops are wanting casuals at the moment.
