fishing etiquette

when your fishing from jetties or rocks with plenty of available fishing spots all around you and someone sets up right next to you, close enough to invade your space, is this just part and parcel of fishing, or do you have every right to tell them to f*** off out of your face? sometimes the solitude is what your after and unless your vying for space, which i could understand, i felt it was very rude. Is it just me or do most fisherman feel this way? very interested to hear your feedback

The trouble is Marc is that quite often the "invader"
has decided to fish next to you because they don't have a clue what they are doing and they want to take advantage of your fishing knowledge and burley trail and they end up casting over your line time after time.

It is quite disturbing
I have had the same thing happen where I have been fishing on a beach by myself, or fishing at Hillarys.

I hate this in a boat when there is a whole ocean and they pull up within spittin distance (and I mean less than 4 metres between the boats). Happened to me last April in Streaky bay. Mind you this was not on a reef and we were fishing a sand hole on a area of sand holes approximately 3km wide. Weren't even catching much at the time when this prick came roaring in and dropped his anchor alomost on top of mine, may have well just asked to tie up. After letting him know what my thoughts were I pulled anchor and did two laps of his boat churning up the water and then moved to another spot - he did not follow me again.
I'm usually pretty open about other boats coming up if they do it quietly and at least give you a bit of room but this guy took the cake. Ettiquete what ettiquete!!
Cheers

Just sit there, work up a few big farts and let rip, then turn to them and ask them if they wouldn't doing that and ask them to excuse themselves. See what happens then.
